2021 Vérité, Horizontal (La Désir, La Muse, La Joie), Three-Bottle Assortment Case

Description

This unique mix case contains one bottle of each of the following wines from Vérité: 2021 La Joie, 2021 La Muse and 2021 Le Désir.

La Joie - 96/100

Cocoa bean, fresh mint leaf, a ton of vivid dark fruit, bitter cherry, orange peel, liquorice, with a zip on the finish. A joyful example of what Cabernet Sauvignon can achieve in Sonoma. Pierre Seillan winemaker.

Drink 2026 - 2042

La Muse - 97/100

Majors on floral aromatics, with red roses, violet and peonies that curl out of the glass, edge of smoke, grilled turmeric and fennel, raspberry and redcurrant, full of charm and easy personality. You can get going on this within a few years but all three of these wines are more than able to withstand long ageing. Winemaker Pierre Seillan.

Drink 2026 - 2042

Le Désir - 97/100

The Cabernet Franc dominant bottling of the three Vérité wines, and it translates into a lean, fresh feel with touches of leather and fragrant peony, powerful but juicy, with a crunch of redcurrant and raspberry, and powerful tannins. This has kick and juice, and plenty of personality. Winemaker Pierre Seillan.

About this wine

Vérité Winery

The Vérité estate is a vision created by the late Jess Jackson, a man who in Robert Parker’s eyes “was one of the most extraordinary men in the wine world I have ever met.”  These wines always rate very highly (indeed, since 1998 seven  have been awarded 100 Parker points) and the 2010 vintage is gaining great praise from the press and critics alike as a potential emergence of a new iconic wine from the United States. The wines of Vérité, French for “truth,” are the result of a combination of old world experience and new world fruit. The wine is a distinct blend of varietals harvested from small vineyard blocks, each cuvée culminating in a bespoke union of grape varieties, climate, soil expression and winemaking technique.  Vigneron Pierre Seillan refers to this methodology as droit du sol: “right of the soil.”   “The wines are elegant and complex, possessing superb concentration of flavor and color. These are wines meant to age over the next thirty years and will develop greater depth and character in your cellar.” Pierre Seillan, winemaker
