Description
This is vibrant and elegant, with a multitude of citrus and stone-fruit flavours, such as peaches, lemons and limes. The wine has fantastic freshness, purity and intensity. It’s very well-balanced, with a mouth-watering feel and hints of green apple and passion fruit. There’s a distinctive flavour balance between sweet and saline. Critics reviews
Rebecca Gibb MW 93/100
The 2021 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon is a precise, focused style offering vibrant passionfruit, elderflower and gooseberry fruit. This was a low-yielding vintage, and that's reflected in the intensity of concentration and aromatic richness. With mouthwatering but balanced acidity, this is really delightful, pure and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with stony sinew on the finish. Best consumed in youth for its aromatic appeal.Drink 2022 - 2029Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous.com.com (Mar 2022)

About this wine
Sauvignon Blanc
An important white grape in Bordeaux and the Loire Valley that has now found fame in New Zealand and now Chile. It thrives on the gravelly soils of Bordeaux and is blended with Sémillon to produce fresh, dry, crisp Bordeaux Blancs, as well as more prestigious Cru Classé White Graves. It is also blended with Sémillon, though in lower proportions, to produce the great sweet wines of Sauternes. It performs well in the Loire Valley and particularly on the well-drained chalky soils found in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, where it produces bone dry, highly aromatic, racy wines, with grassy and sometimes smoky, gunflint-like nuances.
