Description

This monopole was first planted in 1110 by the monks of Cîteaux. The wine remains one of the most intriguing whites in Burgundy. It’s always very taut, especially in youth, but with age it evolves into an extraordinarily aromatic wine. The young and old vines are harvested apart. There’s more volume to the mid-palate this year. Drink 2025-2038.

Pale lemon and lime, with both a refined bouquet and intensity behind. “The inimitable Clos Blanc” says Sylvie. So much fruit detail here, both the sharper styles such as fresh apple, through a whole range of pears but stopping short of peach or anything tropical.
