Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Merlot 24%

With many 2020s delivering so much succulent fruit, “GPL” sticks to its guns. This has real class and poise; the tannic finish tapers in a way that builds rather than dominates. This is due to the high proportion – and quality – of Cabernet Sauvignon from the puy under which the château sits. The aromas are built on gravel and spice notes, with cassis underneath. Its modesty does not deny its quality; the final impression is of ripe fruit entwined in sinewy tannins.
