2019 Chassagne-Montrachet, Les Vergers, 1er Cru, Camille Giroud, Burgundy

Description

This hugely seductive wine boasts flamboyant nutty and tropical fruit aromas, and an almost viscous texture. Its concentration points to the fact that most of the vines here are half-a-century old. The finish, however, is refined and mineral – as you’d expect from an east-facing vineyard at the Puligny end of Chassagne. Drink 2022-2028.

Critics reviews

Jasper Morris MW 92/100
Delightful pale lemon and lime colour. Here the bouquet has a little more character as the grapes were picked at ideal ripeness. Suave and succulent, a generosity of fruit, a faint touch of coconut, definitely ripe enough and relatively complex. Plenty of detail to enjoy here.Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com (December 2020)
