Allen Meadows 92/100
The 2018 white burgundy vintage is all over the map, with some wines already drinking well and others remaining compact and undemonstrative. This lovely effort is somewhere between the two with its nose of mildly exotic white peach, white flower and hint of rosemary oil. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors exude a subtle minerality on the well-detailed, complex and lingering finish that is clean and quite dry as well as sneaky long. This is a balanced wine of focused power that should amply reward mid-term cellaring yet it's not so backward that it couldn't be enjoyed now if desired.Drink from 2026 onwardallen_meadows, burghound_com.com (October 2022)

Les Caillerets consistently produces some of Chassagne-Montrachet's freshest and most ethereal Premiers Crus, reflecting the high percentage of limestone in its soils. This combines saline acidity with assertive aromatic oak, plenty of leesy, spicy, stone and citrus fruit concentration and a racy, palate-cleansing finish. You can almost taste the rock here.Drink 2022 - 2030Tim Atkin MW, Decanter.com (October 2019)

About this wine

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is often seen as the king of white wine grapes and one of the most widely planted in the world It is suited to a wide variety of soils, though it excels in soils with a high limestone content as found in Champagne, Chablis, and the Côte D`Or. Burgundy is Chardonnay's spiritual home and the best White Burgundies are dry, rich, honeyed wines with marvellous poise, elegance and balance. They are unquestionably the finest dry white wines in the world. Chardonnay plays a crucial role in the Champagne blend, providing structure and finesse, and is the sole grape in Blanc de Blancs.
