Very refined nose of nectarine, peach, crystallised ginger and sweet spices. Layered, intense and suave, with extremely long-lasting flavours of ginger, sweet spices and tropical fruits. Very harmonious wine: a standout Rieussec.

The R de Rieussec 2014 is a blend of 46% Sauvignon Blanc and 54% Smillon. It has a crisp, slightly petrolly bouquet that opens nicely in the glass, hints of barley sugar in the background. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, the Sauvignon Blanc much more expressive at the moment with green apple and gooseberry on the finish. Fine.Neil Martin - 30/04/2015

Chateau Rieussec

Château Rieussec is one of the richest and most exotic of all Sauternes, producing particularly good wines in the late 1980s and the mid 1990s. Rieussec has been owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild since 1985 and is located at one of the highest points of Sauternes in the village of Fargues where its vineyards border those of Château d`Yquem.
