Aromas of kirsch and rose petal on the nose lead to a generous palate with lots of juicy red berry fruit. There is plenty of refreshing acidity and elegant tannins, with subtle notes of sweet spice and nutmeg. It is long, concentrated and delicious.

Critics reviews
Monica Larner 90/100
The 2014 Barolo is characteristic of the vintage. This is a mid-weight Nebbiolo with bright aromas of candied cherry, cola, licorice and moist potting soil. These aromas come together with careful precision, and although the wine is compact in texture, it leaves a long and satisfying trail of silky, smooth tannins.Monica Larner - 30/04/2019
About this wine
Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is the grape behind the Barolo and Barbaresco wines and is hardly ever seen outside the confines of Piedmont. It takes its name from "nebbia" which is Italian for fog, a frequent phenomenon in the region.

Giovanni Rosso
Davide Rosso took over from his father, Giovanni, in the early 2000s. He has since risen quickly in reputation as one of Piedmont’s greatest producers. He may not have the uninterrupted winemaking history of some of his famous neighbours, but he is the envy of many: he has some of the most desirable vineyards in Barolo – Serralunga d’Alba, Cerretta, Serra – showcasing the vivid terroir of his beloved hometown.
