Description
Another contender for the least-known Classed Growth in the Médoc, if this rejuvenated estate carries on making wines like its outstanding 2003, that situation will certainly change. A fabulous nose of intensely floral cassis and dried fruits bears none of the stewed fruit found in many other southern Médoc wines. On the palate generous helpings of blackberries and cream, combine with elegant Margaux femininity to stunning effect. Made from 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this treasure of a wine surpasses the quality of their 2000 and offers excellent value too.

Critics reviews
Robert Parker 87/100
Margaux was not one of the more favored appellations, although some top 2003s were made there. Du Tertres fully mature 2003 displays chocolaty, herbal, fig and black currant notes, excellent density, elegance and freshness. However, it needs to be drunk up over the next several years.Robert M. About this wine
Château du Tertre
Château du Tertre in Margaux can trace its history back to the 12th century. The estate has 50 hectares of vineyards, neighbouring Cantenac-Brown and Brane-Cantenac to the north and Giscours to the east. In 2021, the estate was sold by the Albada Jelgersma family to a French institutional investor; it is run by the Helfrich family of Les Grands Chais de France.
