2000 Graham's, Port, Portugal

Description

This showed a calm restraint when tasted as well as the extra degree of class expected from one of the very finest shippers. The tannins were nicely subdued but with an edginess set against a mass of sweet, plump fruit. Long, long length - serious class and up with the very best the vintage has to offer. 2020-2030

Jancis Robinson MW 17.5/20
Intense and liqueur-like on the nose. Very strong minty note. Dry finish with some tannins still evident. Very pure and clean.Drink 2015-2040jancis_robinson_mw, JancisRobinson.com (Sep 2016)

Grapy, unformed, black raspberry liqueur and licorice-infused cassis notes leap from the glass of this opaque purple-colored wine. Sweet, plush, rich, and accessible, it is a forward, lush, concentrated effort that should drink well for two decades. While not one of Graham's most profound ports, it should evolve rapidly, providing immense crowd appeal.Robert M. Parker, Jr. - 30/10/2002

Dark purple. Slightly green note on the nose. Very big and bold and sweet – really overwhelming with its sweetness, though there is tannin, quite dry insistent tannin, on the finish. Dry and almost dusty finish. This is less than a baby, it’s an idea. But it should get there all right, even if it’s a bit crazy to even try to taste it now.
