Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, Filey Bay, IPA Finish, Batch #2, Single Malt Whisky, England (46%)
- World Whisky
Description
As farmers, brewers, and distillers, Filey Bay have crafted a unique and delicious single malt from field to bottle. All the barley is grown on the family farm in Hunmanby, whilst the water is from two sources sunk deep into the Yorkshire chalk bedrock. This fine whisky is even matured in its own ex-IPA casks. It's bright amber gold in hue, with a taste profile that includes biscuity overtones, notes of orchard fruits, pear drops, sponge cake, and those all-important hops. This unique combination of flavours is a delight for the senses. Delicious with a bowl of mixed nuts, ideally heavy on the cashews.

About this spirit
Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery
Barley
Barley is a key ingredient in the production of some of the world's most renowned spirits, particularly whiskey and Scotch whisky. Malted barley is used as the primary grain in many single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, where it contributes a distinct malty, nutty, and sometimes smoky flavour profile. In addition to Scotch, barley is also a staple in the production of Irish whiskey, where it often lends a smoother, creamier taste. The versatility of barley as a grain makes it a favorite for creating complex and deeply nuanced spirits cherished by enthusiasts worldwide.
