This bottling from Volcan de Mi Tierra is a brilliant example of why Reposado is the foremost category of Tequila for some. Mouth-wateringly luscious agave character is enrobed by sweet-scented oak and stands proud, offering unabashed drinkability. It is equally as delicious on a cool evening in the highlands of Jalisco as on the dining table of a warm family home. I’ll take mine unhurriedly, alongside slow-cooked pork belly, please!

Volcan de mi Tierra is a Tequila producer that was established in 2017. It takes its name from a volcano located in Jalisco, Mexico. There are four Tequilas in the range: Blanco, Reposado, Cristalino, and X.A. (Xtra Assemblage). The house is a collaboration between Moët Hennessy and the Gallardo family, whose Mexican roots date back to 1774.
