Coastal Stone, Element Series, First Release, Pinot Cask, Single Malt Whisky, Australia (46%)
- World Whisky
Description
Chocolate and peanut brittle combine on the nose, along with teak, spice and hazelnut notes. On the palate is an explosion of caramelised banana, pineapple, praline and walnut cake, colliding with notes of toffee and baking spices.
Rich, heady and warming, this is incredibly complex and superbly smooth, with wonderfully integrated cashmere tannins and a chocolate velvet texture. An underlying saltiness runs throughout and resurfaces on the long, soft finish.
Truth be told, I cannot think of a single occasion when I wouldn’t want to drink this exceptional Antipodean dram.

Barley
Barley is a key ingredient in the production of some of the world's most renowned spirits, particularly whiskey and Scotch whisky. Malted barley is used as the primary grain in many single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, where it contributes a distinct malty, nutty, and sometimes smoky flavour profile. In addition to Scotch, barley is also a staple in the production of Irish whiskey, where it often lends a smoother, creamier taste. The versatility of barley as a grain makes it a favorite for creating complex and deeply nuanced spirits cherished by enthusiasts worldwide.
