Mijenta, Gran Reserva, Añejo Tequila (40%)

Description

Beautifully presented and B-Corp certified, this Añejo Tequila, the pinnacle of Ana María Romero’s brilliant core range is testament to not only sensitive distillation, but very astute barrel selection. Four different types of casks are used, including, rather unusually, those made of both Acacia and Cherry wood, alongside the more commonly seen American and French Oak. Each barrel type contributes elements to a moreishly complex Tequila, capable of being enjoyed over a long, thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Mexico

Mexico boasts a rich tradition of spirit-making, centring on tequila and mezcal. Tequila, derived from blue agave, undergoes a regulated process in regions like Jalisco, yielding varieties such as blanco and añejo. Mezcal, made from various agave species, mainly thrives in Oaxaca and is known for its unique smoky flavour. Both spirits hold cultural significance, and the rise of premium and craft varieties has spurred the growth of small-batch distilleries.
