Uva di Troia

Uva di Troia is a red wine grape variety grown in the Italian region of Puglia, named after a village found near Foggia. The vines are hardy and thick and produce pyramidal clusters of purple grapes, and are adaptable enough to survive in the warm soil and hot climate of Puglia.   It is the primary part of the Castel del Monte, Rosso Barletta and Rosso Canosa DOC wines, and the former can also be produced as a pure Uva di Troia varietal wine.
