Introduction to the Wines of Piedmont, Thursday 25th May 2023
- Thursday 25 May 2023
- 18:30 - 20:30
Description
Piemonte, meaning ‘foot of the mountain’, is one of the most revered wine regions of Italy. During this tasting with Michael Dabbs, Italian fine wine expert, you will discover why this is so. Your evening will commence with a delicious glass of Roero Arneis as an apéritif before we explore the white wines of the region made from Cortese and Chardonnay. Much of our focus, however, will be on the more famous red wines made from the Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes, including examples from the highly lauded communes of Barbaresco and Barolo.
The evening will conclude with an exceptional Barolo from the 2008 vintage to see just how complex and ethereal the Nebbiolo grape variety can become with bottle age.
