Description

Quinta Passadouro 2011 marks a real return to form, admittedly somewhat helped by the superlative vintage conditions but also by the impressive husbandry of the old vines in top sites around Pinhão and the neighbouring Roncão Valley. Winemaker Jorge Borges is not alone, admittedly, in his sentiment that the 2011 will prove to be the best vintage for decades…it will also last for decades!

Inky of hue and with classic aromas of rock rose, licorice and parma violets, the wine is generous and sweet, with a fresh almost eucalypt note behind the pervasive and persuasive black fruit core. This is a most commendable effort.
