Description
It’s hard to recall much that was good in 1974, though Graham’s has brought us good cheer with this rich and enchanting Tawny Port. The colour is a beautifully burnished mahogany, like a deep Oloroso Sherry. Deep walnut hints gently unfurl on the nose as it opens. There is great depth and a tightly sweet core, with comforting traces of Oxford marmalade developing around it. This is quite strident and firm-fruited, with that enticing, mildly Demerara-sugar undertone. Ideal for an autumnal evening as much as summer, this is a wine with which to reflect on years passed.
