The Glenrothes, 25-Year-Old, Speyside, Single Malt Scotch Whisky (43%) (New Bottling)

Description

Prepare to be intrigued by the unique combination of ripe peaches, liquid caramel, and zesty orange peel that lead on the nose. This is complemented by a rich, nutty sweetness, marzipan, and gentle, fragrant notes. The interplay of creamy vanilla, ripe stone fruit, and orange oil on the palate is a delightful surprise, enhanced by toasted almonds, Swiss milk chocolate, delicate oak notes, and a lingering sweet spice. The finish is a perfect blend of rich and sweet, silky nuttiness and persisting fragrance.

About this spirit

The Glenrothes Distillery, Speyside

We are delighted to announce The Glenrothes has been awarded a quartet of gold medals at The Scotch Whisky Masters 2015. The honours include two Gold Medals for The Glenrothes Select Reserve and two Gold Medals for The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve. The Reserves are the heart of The Glenrothes range and have been created to give character, maturity and balance that deliver the best possible flavours. The Glenrothes has been producing Speyside Single Malts since 1879. The Glenrothes's distillery is in Rothes in the heart of Speyside which is acknowledged by connoisseurs as the source of Scotland's finest single malts; indeed, it has the highest density of distilleries of any region. This is due to the unusually clement climate experienced in this area and the ample supply of soft water provided by the river Spey.

Barley

Barley is a key ingredient in the production of some of the world's most renowned spirits, particularly whiskey and Scotch whisky. Malted barley is used as the primary grain in many single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, where it contributes a distinct malty, nutty, and sometimes smoky flavour profile. In addition to Scotch, barley is also a staple in the production of Irish whiskey, where it often lends a smoother, creamier taste. The versatility of barley as a grain makes it a favorite for creating complex and deeply nuanced spirits cherished by enthusiasts worldwide.
