Lindores Abbey, The Casks of Lindores, STR Wine Barrique, Lowland, Single Malt Scotch Whisky (49.4%)
- Scotch Whisky
Description
This whisky has a glorious, deep amber hue and a mellow, fruit-forward nose with increasingly captivating complexity. Aromas of apricot and plum mingled with creamy toffee and sweet spice, with a whisp of smoke.
Further on the palate were light notes of honey, enriched by deeper treacle tones. Sweet spice and wood smoke enlivened the experience.
This is a wonderful bottling; a generous and fascinating spirit made more so by its maturation in ‘shaved, toasted & re-charred’ red wine barriques. It is best enjoyed neat.

Barley
Barley is a key ingredient in the production of some of the world's most renowned spirits, particularly whiskey and Scotch whisky. Malted barley is used as the primary grain in many single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, where it contributes a distinct malty, nutty, and sometimes smoky flavour profile. In addition to Scotch, barley is also a staple in the production of Irish whiskey, where it often lends a smoother, creamier taste. The versatility of barley as a grain makes it a favorite for creating complex and deeply nuanced spirits cherished by enthusiasts worldwide.
