2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Isole e Olena, Tuscany

A tried and tested firm favourite of mine: this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and dark in colour. First impressions suggest some sweet oak spice, balanced by sour cherry, blackberry, blue flower and forest floor. Silky tannins, expressive ripe dark fruit and hints of tobacco, this is everything you could ask for from a Cabernet. From the moment you put your nose in the glass to the long finish, it’s the wine’s purity that stands out. While delicious now, this wine will only continue to improve with time in bottle.
